Mr. William Larkin, who has more than 30 years of experience in pharmacy management, joined the GNYHA staff in July 1992. He was the Assistant Director of Pharmacy Operations at Lenox Hill Hospital and served as GNYHA Services Pharmacy Committee Chairman for four years prior to his staff appointment.

During Mr. Larkin's tenure at GNYHA Services, Inc., the pharmaceutical contract and clinical programs have grown exponentially across a highly compliant 300 plus-hospital member base. As a group affiliate of Premier Purchasing Partners, GNYHA Services contributes significantly to Premier's Pharmacy Program performance. Mr. Larkin continues to serve at Premier as a member of its National Pharmacy Committee (NPC) and Plasma Products Task Force. In a parallel role, Mr. Larkin serves as a Group Vice President for Innovatix, a highly successful and growing national non-acute care group purchasing joint venture with Premier Purchasing Partners that serves the needs of home infusion care, long term care facilities, closed-door pharmacy providers, and physicians/oncologists and more.

Mr. Larkin is a registered pharmacist and received his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree from St. John's University. He also holds a Master's of Pharmaceutical Marketing from Long Island University.

Elizabeth A. Shlom, PharmD, BCPS, Senior Vice President & Director, Clinical Pharmacy Program

Dr. Shlom has been managing the Clinical Pharmacy Program at GNYHA Services since 1995. Prior to GNYHA Services, Dr. Shlom completed ASHP-accredited hospital pharmacy residencies at Duke University Medical Center and the University of California San Francisco Medical Center. She worked for 10 years at institutions including the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and St. Luke’s/Roosevelt Hospital. Under her direction, the GNYHA Services Clinical Pharmacy team provides programs to assist members in providing cost-effective and safe medication use. Regularly held meetings provide members an opportunity to discuss formulary concerns, regulatory compliance, and clinical pharmacy practice management issues. The clinical team provides a number of value-added services, including newsletters, monthly ACPE-accredited pharmacy teleconferences, member-requested surveys, and a robust website containing pharmacy-focused tool kits.

In addition to her work at GNYHA Services, Dr. Shlom currently sits on the Board of Directors of the NYSCHP as Director of Education and Workforce Development. Dr. Shlom also provides representation for GNYHA Services on the Premier Medication Management Subcommittee.

David J. Grish, Vice President, Pharmacy Client Services

Mr. David Grish works closely with GNYHA Services members for all pharmacy-related matters concerning, but not limited to, pricing issues, distribution, and cost savings opportunities. He communicates daily with members, distributors, manufacturers, and Premier. Mr. Grish has been instrumental in changing the level of support and customer service provided to the GNYHA Services pharmacy members.

Prior to joining GNYHA Services in 2000, Mr. Grish worked for Neuman Distributors as the Hospital Operations Manager, dealing with all aspects of institutional service issues and group purchasing organization interface. Other work experience includes 10 years as the Pharmacy Procurement Agent at Wayne General Hospital.

Sudha Narayanaswamy, PharmD, BCPP, CGP, Senior Vice President, Division of Pharmacy Practice

Dr. Sudha Narayanaswamy has been involved in health-system pharmacy for over 15 years. She is a graduate of St. John’s University College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Sciences, where she received both her Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees.

Dr. Narayanaswamy joined GNYHA Services in 2008 after completing a specialty residency in Geriatrics at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center (KJMC). She also worked as a Clinical Pharmacy Coordinator at KJMC, as well as St. Peter’s University Hospital in New Jersey. Previously, as Vice President in the Clinical Pharmacy Division at GNYHA Services, Dr. Narayanaswamy supported the Clinical Pharmacy Program by organizing continuing education programs, developing several clinical resources based on member needs, and providing drug information services.

In her current role as Senior Vice President of the Division of Pharmacy Practice, Dr. Narayanaswamy serves as a resource for legislative and regulatory advocacy issues related to health-system pharmacy. In addition to soliciting and responding to member feedback on practice challenges during in-person discussions with hospital pharmacy administrators, Dr. Narayanaswamy identifies utilization trends and offers recommendations for cost savings opportunities in collaboration with her Pharmacy Services colleagues at GNYHA Services and Premier.

Leila M. Tibi-Scherl, PharmD, Vice President, Division of Pharmacy Practice

Dr. Leila Tibi-Scherl, Pharm.D., has worked with the GNYHA Services pharmacy team since 2003. As Vice President of the Division of Pharmacy Practice, Dr. Tibi-Scherl’s support of member hospitals is multifaceted, serving as a resource for clinical and operational best practices, as well as an advocate on a variety of legislative and regulatory issues impacting health-system pharmacy practice. In the area of supply expense management, Dr. Tibi-Scherl provides leadership by identifying utilization trends and coordinates pharmaceutical expense mitigation initiatives in collaboration with the hospital’s pharmacy management team. Dr. Tibi-Scherl works closely with her colleagues within GNYHA Services and Premier to effectively support the GNYHA Services membership keeping cost, quality and outcomes as top priorities.

Dr. Tibi-Scherl earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree at Albany College of Pharmacy and previously worked as a staff pharmacist in both hospital and community pharmacies in southern Nevada. She was formerly the Senior Clinical Pharmacy Specialist within the GNYHA Services Clinical Pharmacy Program.

Maabo Kludze-Forson, PharmD, MBA, CDE, BCPS Senior Clinical Pharmacy Specialist

Dr. Maabo Kludze-Forson, is a Senior Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at GNYHA Services. Dr. Kludze-Forson received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and completed residency training at New York-Presbyterian Hospital at Cornell and Columbia (NYP) with a focus on adult infectious diseases. Maabo Kludze-Forson received her MBA in Pharmaceutical Business from the School of Graduate Studies at University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. After the completion of her residency training, Dr. Kludze-Forson accepted a position as a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Infectious Diseases at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Manhattan. After the closure of St. Vincent’s Hospital Dr. Kludze-Forson, became the Clinical Pharmacy Coordinator at Lawrence Hospital in Bronxville, NY. As a Certified Diabetes Educator at Lawrence Hospital, she educated diabetic patients and healthcare personnel about this complex disease and managed the Antimicrobial Stewardship program. At GNYHA, Dr. Kludze-Forson answers drug information questions, prepares electronic newsletters and resource guides and coordinates the GNYHA Services Antimicrobial Stewardship Forum.
